Full-Service Accommodations at the Panamonte

The Panamonte Inn & Spa, the oldest Panama bed and breakfast hotel open continuously since 1914, and the only registered Small Luxury Hotel in Panama, offers guests 25 rooms with private baths. All rooms are equipped with telephones, hair dryers, air-conditioning (though you won’t need it!), ceiling fans, a security safe, WiFi, and flat screen televisions with international channels.

In 2008, The Panamonte completely refurbished the original Inn’s rooms, updating furnishings and baths, while maintaining the sense that perhaps you have stepped back in time to your grandmother’s summer place. These 6 rooms face onto the beautiful courtyard and are conveniently close to the dining room and the Fireside Lounge. Cozy, comfortable, and very reasonably priced, these rooms come with either two twin beds or a queen bed.

Newly constructed in 2008 are the Garden Junior Suites, the Garden Terrace Rooms, and the Garden Honeymoon Suite. Tasteful color combinations, wall-hangings, bed throws, large mirrors, teak furniture, and the creations of local artists all speak to style, comfort and Old World country elegance. Sheets are fine 500-count Egyptian cotton, and fluffy robes and slippers are provided.

The three Garden Junior Suites are the Inn’s largest rooms, with either a king or two queen beds. Each has a covered front porch, with comfortable patio furniture to encourage outdoor seating, and faces onto the central garden with a lovely view of the surrounding mountains. The suites have over-size bathrooms with marble top vanities, two basin areas, and a very roomy glass walled walk-in shower. They are furnished with locally crafted teak furniture and are reminiscent in décor of the early Panama Canal days. For a family traveling together, two adjoining suites is the perfect solution to privacy and togetherness.

The eight Garden Terrace rooms have either a king or two queen beds in a spacious, well-appointed room, with a small sitting arrangement, a desk, a walk-in closet, and lovely bath. Outside of each is a private flagstone terrace facing onto the magnificent garden and mountain vista. Sip your coffee in the morning. Count the birds in the ancient spreading mango tree. Delight in the butterflies flitting around the flowers. Relax.

The Panamonte’s crown jewel is the Garden Honeymoon Suite. Private, intimate, tucked away at the back of the garden, this beautiful suite is the ultimate in romantic settings. A front porch fireplace, a window nook day bed, a lovely desk area for writing those postcards back home, and an enormous bathroom with glass walled shower and a Jacuzzi for two…. Champagne upon arrival, flowers in the vases, what else you could ask for? It is the perfect setting for a honeymoon, a special anniversary, or just a very special gift to pamper someone very special.

Garden Honeymoon Suite:

The Honeymoon Suite is our best room and a favorite with newlyweds, romantic couples, and those seeking to splurge a little and pamper themselves. The Suite boasts a spacious bedroom with a King-size bed, 500-count linens, a light, airy ambiance that opens onto a large private patio surrounded by gardens, and an oversized bathroom with a Jacuzzi tub and glass-walled shower. A private fireplace adds to the charm and romance of the setting.

Garden Junior Suites:

Three stylish suites tastefully decorated with locally produced teak furniture and an elegant decor reminiscent of the early Panama Canal days. These suites are our largest rooms, with oversized bedrooms, terraces situated high enough to view the lush mountainous surroundings, plush Queen-size beds with 500-count linens, and deluxe bathrooms with glass-walled showers.

Garden Terrace Rooms:

Our brand-new Garden Terrace rooms are set back in the gardens of the Panamonte, boasting beautiful mountain views and offering an escape from the fast-paced life. All Terrace rooms are the same size, but slightly smaller than our Garden Suites, yet all are tastefully furnished and exceptionally comfortable, with King-size beds and a small, private outdoor seating area.

RESERVATION POLICIES

As a small inn, we are greatly affected by late reservation cancellations. In order to confirm your reservation we ask for a one night deposit payable by credit card (Visa, Master Card or American Express) including, credit card holderâ€™s full name, expiration date, and Security Code, or direct deposit to our bank account. Passport number with its date and country of issue are also requested. For Holiday Periods, please note we require a three-night minimum stay and a two-night deposit. The following are our cancellation policies; please note that all cancellations must be in writing:

None Holiday Period

Cancellations made 8 days before the arrival date will receive a full refund of the deposit less a $25.00 processing fee.

Cancellations made within 8 days of the arrival date will forfeit the deposit.

Holiday/Festival Period

Cancellations made 30 days or more before the arrival date will receive a full refund of the deposit less a $25.00 processing fee.

Cancellations made between 30 and 15 days before arrival forfeit 50% of the deposit.

Cancellations made 14 days or less before arrival forfeit the entire deposit.

Special Holiday Periods:

The following Holiday periods carry a strict reservation policy, and require a minimum stay of four nights:

Carnival March 4 to 8, 2011

Easter April 17 to 24, 2011

TRANSPORTATION FEES:

The fees for transportation to and from the airport and surrounding the areas are as follow:

Transfer from the Airport in David to Boquete

And vice versa (each way, 1 to 3 pax) US. $40.00

Transfer from the Costa Rica/Panama Border

And vice versa (each way, 1 to 3 pax) US. $100.00

Transfer from Boquete to the town of Volcan (Bambito)

And vice versa (each way, 1 to 3 pax) US. $95.00

Transfer from Boquete to Almirante

And vice versa (each way, 1 to 3 pax) .US. $200.00
